Meaning of 和合
和 means harmony, peace and kindness; while 合 means combination, incorporation and cooperation. The Chinese 和合 culture dated back thousands years ago, with the two characters being recorded in Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Bronze Inscriptions. The original implication of 和 is the harmonious state of sound, while 合 means matching and suiting with each other.
The name of 和合 chamber orchestra focuses on its goal, which is achieving the harmony and perfectness of music through the teamwork and cooperation by various parties. By the collaboration of performers, the orchestra wants to connect every soul and every piece of instrument, which further enhances the bond between people and instruments, and that between performers and audience, giving the crowd a feeling of music with vitality.
